CASE HISTORY:


Aluminum Heat Shield

A Tier 1 supplier of aluminum heat shields has a reject rate of over 35%. Throughput is at 8 parts per minute. Four people are needed to hang up the shields from the press to let the oil drip off while two others inspect each shield. Then, the shields are sent to another drying operation, before a final "wipe down" by two other people. Press set-up times range from 12-36 hours. With AMERIFORM®, two people pack the shields coming off the press for shipping, the reject rate is below 1%, through-put is now 19 parts per minute (and going higher), and press set-up time is under 20 minutes.

A Tier 1 supplier reduces the reject rates of an aluminum heat shield and tailgate from over 40% to under 1%.

A lawn & garden manufacturer reduces the reject rate of a deep drawn part from 35% to under 1%.

Another lawn & garden manufacturer takes a forming operation from 3 draws to 2.
